Information for presenters
Presentation format
The conference will be organized as an in-person event only.
Your abstract(s) will be published in the BOOK OF ABSTRACTS volume and will become public on the date of the event.
Content changes are not allowed after the abstract has been reviewed and accepted for presentation.
Oral presentations are scheduled as 20 minutes for presenting and Q&A , while Rapid Fire Talk have as allocated time 10 minutes.
It is mandatory to adhere to the time schedule. Please download the Power Point Presentation Template for your presentation. Presentation will be dropped off at the computer in the Plenary Session room, during the time for “registration” or “lunch break”. For fast identification, please save the presentation with the name of the speaker and drop it in the specific folder of the session you have been included.
If you have been scheduled for a POSTER presentation, prepare an A0 Poster PORTRAIT mode using Poster Presentation TEMPLATE. Text should be readable from 2 meters away. Please respect the indicated dimension (A0) and mode for printing. There is one (1) poster board available per presentation. Larger or smaller printed posters won’t fit in the exposition panels. Posters will be dropped off at the registration desk on the morning of the scheduled day. They will be mounted around 10:00 and will be on display up to 17:00. Presenters are expected to be near the poster at the “meet the presenters” moments, at the specifically mentioned time in the program.

Convert your presentation into an article or book chapter
If you are interested in submitting for publication an extended version of your abstract, there are several possibilities.
- Publish as a journal paper if the covered subject falls under the scope and objectives of the Special Issue: Urban Subsurface for Sustainable Cities: Heat, Water, Space, and Risk.
Article publishing option: Open Access
Discounted Article Publishing Charge (APC): Free.
This discount is valid for articles submitted by 31 December 2026.
This Special Issue seeks contributions that explore the role of the urban subsurface in creating more sustainable, resilient, and livable cities. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, shallow geothermal, urban heat, integrated underground planning, stormwater and aquifer management, geotechnical resilience, and hazards approaches in urban areas. Case studies & analyses that quantify benefits, risks, trade-offs, and environmental justice dimensions are also encouraged.
Researchers, practitioners, and policymakers are welcome to showcase innovative approaches to harnessing subsurface resources while mitigating risks, ultimately contributing to the development of smarter and more resilient cities.

2. Publish as a book chapter under the aegis of the Romanian Society of Applied Geophysics. Full-papers should be submitted before 10 of November. Publishing is based on peer-review evaluation and free of charge for a 20 pages material in the book format. Extended formats will have a charge of 100 EUR. 3. Publish as a journal paper in a SPECIAL ISSUE – Sustainable Nature-Based Tourism, if the covered subject falls under the scope and objectives of the Journal – Sustainability ( Journal Rank: JCR – Q2 (Environmental Studies), Impact Factor: 3.3 (2024) ). The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is applied by the editorial house. More information is available here

Presentation Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to join us in Bucharest due to unforeseen circumstances, please inform us promptly. Should you need to withdraw your presentation, we kindly ask that you notify us without delay via e-mail
Kindly note that if you withdraw your presentation, or in the event of a no-show, the corresponding abstract will be removed from the database, the abstract volume, and the final version of the conference program.
Programme Changes
SGAR reserves the right at all times to make changes in the time schedule, dates, format, concept of the event.
If, due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of SGAR the execution of the Event as planned is prevented or impeded, SGAR has the following rights:
a.) to change the time and/or date of the Event;
b.) to change the venue where the Event takes place;
c.) to change the Format (on-site, on-line or a combination of both) or part of the format, the length, the duration or scope of the event
